Elvis Presley

Hilltop's English Society has been learning about famous musicians and bands since April. We have covered interesting topics such as The Beatles, John Lennon and Elvis Presley. Next week we are going to learn about jazz great Louis Armstrong. In addition to well designed reading, writing and speaking activities, the children also have the opportunity to see and listen to the actual artists via the internet. On a side note, after our John Lennon class, three of my students brought in John Lennon and The Beatles CDs from home. It was really nice to see them so enthusiastic about music at such a young age!!

Fire Drill (避難訓練)

Today we were visited by the Kumamoto Fire Department. A large fire engine and ambulance came. The children learned about fire safety. They were also allowed to walk inside the ambulance and learn about the many important things inside. It was a terrific learning experience.
